Final Draft & Scriptation Importers
With this update, Cinapse introduces a unified importing system that allows you to bring in Final Draft files (.fdx), Scriptation files (Breakdown Summary .csv), or both, and merge them into a single schedule.
When new script revisions arrive, the importer intelligently updates matching scenes (by scene number for features, or Episode + Scene number for television) while creating new strips only where needed. The result: one continuously updated schedule file that eliminates duplication and keeps your breakdowns accurate across every draft and episode.
- Starting from Scratch
The importer will automatically create your breakdown sheets and strips, and pull in any tagged elements from Final Draft or Scriptation. You’ll just need to number your Cast elements in the Element Manager, either manually or with the Auto-Number option. - Importing into an Existing Schedule
The importer will now update your existing breakdowns if there are matches:- On a feature, updates are matched by Scene number.
- On an episodic, updates are matched by Episode + Scene number.
- If no match is found, a brand-new strip will be created.
- Cinapse will automatically merge elements if they match - like "John" or "JOHN." If you see a duplicate, you can select both elements in the Element Manger, then right-click and select the "Merge" option.
Layout Manager Fix
The italics button in the Layout Manager is now fixed and properly applies the styling.
