This month’s release is about evolution: how productions are created, how access is managed, and how Cinapse fits into the broader production ecosystem. Alongside major product improvements and changes, December also represents an important milestone for the company itself with us joining Wrapbook.
From a new production-based model to rebuilt permissions and a clear look ahead at what’s coming next, this update sets the foundation for the next chapter of Cinapse.
We’ve introduced a brand new production creation flow that better reflects how shows actually operate. There are no more “files” in Cinapse. A file is now a production.
Each production lives on its own, with its own collaborators, permissions, and billing. Under our new usage-based pricing model, each production is paid for individually — so you only pay for Cinapse when you’re actively working on a show.
This shift makes it easier to manage multiple projects at once, keeps billing aligned with how productions and studios operate, and removes friction for teams moving between prep, production, and wrap.
Production teams aren’t one-size-fits-all, and permissions shouldn’t be either. This month, we launched an entirely new permissions framework designed for production teams. Cinapse now includes a clear set of default roles:
On top of that, productions can now create fully custom permission sets, giving you precise control over who can see and edit specific parts of the schedule without slowing collaboration or adding friction.
Permissions by tier:
Whether you’re sharing schedules with producers, limiting access for department heads, or giving coordinators breakdown-only access, the new permissions system gives productions the flexibility they’ve been asking for — with the speed Cinapse is known for.
Alongside the new production-based model, we introduced new pricing tiers designed to better reflect how different teams use Cinapse — from small indie projects to large, multi-unit series. This structure keeps Cinapse accessible for early prep and smaller teams, while scaling cleanly for productions with larger crews, more collaborators, and more complex needs.
Reports are critical, and we know they need to be better.
We’ve officially kicked off a complete redesign of the reports experience in Cinapse. Our customers rely on highly specific reports with very specific requirements, and we’re rebuilding this system from the ground up to better support real-world production workflows.
If you’d like to test the new reports with us and help shape what we build, please reach out. We’d love your input as we move into development.
This month also marks a major company milestone: Cinapse has been acquired by Wrapbook.
Wrapbook is transforming how productions handle payroll, compliance, and production finance. By joining forces, we’re accelerating a shared vision — connecting scheduling, payroll, and finance into a more unified production platform.
Cinapse continues to operate as it always has, with the same team and the same hands-on support. Over time, deeper integrations will bring even more visibility and control across the production lifecycle.

Here’s a look at what’s coming next in Cinapse:
✨ Weather Preferences — choose °C or °F, show or hide highs and lows, display wind speed in mph or kph, and use @sunrise / @sunset shortcuts in text banners.
✨ New Scriptation Import Experience — faster, clearer imports with better validation.
✨ Breakdown Sheet Images — upload and store reference images directly on each breakdown sheet.
✨ Reports Overhaul — redesigned reports built for real production needs.
December’s update represents a meaningful shift for Cinapse — moving from a powerful scheduling tool to a more complete, production-first platform.
We’re grateful to all of the ADs, producers, and studios who continue to push us with thoughtful feedback and real-world use cases. Your input is shaping what comes next.
We’re just getting started, and 2026 is shaping up to be our most exciting year yet.
