Import Scriptation files into Cinapse with all your tags and notes!

Scriptation Importer

Our Scriptation importing tool will auto-generate entire stripboards for you with numbered strips, scene header information, and all tagged elements from Scriptation’s “Tagging mode.”

1. Tag your script in Scriptation. Scriptation has a feature that enables you to tag elements directly in the script. These tags will carry over to Cinapse, so you don’t have to waste hours doing double data-entry anymore.

2A. Export a “Breakdown Summary CSV” report from Scriptation. In Tagging Mode, export a CSV report. Important: Never modify the CSV after you’ve exported it!

2B. Import Scriptation CSV into Cinapse.

• Open Cinapse
• Click on [Import Script]
• Upload the [CSV file]
• Make sure you click [Enable Episodes] if that is relevant for your file

3. All strips & elements auto-generate in Cinapse. You’re all done! The importer will automatically create the following in your Cinapse file:

• All strips
• All scene header data (Scene Numbers, INT/EXT, Set, etc)
• All tagged elements (Cast, Background, Props, etc)

Import additional scripts into your existing Cinapse file

Import new script versions into your file. You can now import a newer version of your script into an existing Cinapse file. How does this work?

• The importer will search your file for any strips with the exact same Episode and Scene number.

• For exact matches, the importer replaces the scene-header data if it has changed (eg. If Synopsis, Set, INT/EXT changed).

• For exact matches, the importer will add any new elements in the newer version of the script to your breakdown. It will not delete/remove any existing elements that you may have added to the breakdown sheet in the previous version.
  
  Import new episode script files. For users working on episodic television series, you can import additional scripts for new episodes as well. Whenever you import a script, a new board is created inside your file.

Re-order stripboards

Added ability to Drag & Drop your boards in the Stripboard Manager. Go to your “Stripboard Manager.” You can now drag and drop the boards to your desired order. The first board in the list will default which board opens when you open the file.

Improved text wrapping in strips

Text-wrapping only impacts each row in your strip layout. We fixed a bug where the stripboard would grow extra tall / jumbo if one of the rows had text-wrapping. Now, only the specific row where text-wrapping is applied with grow in height, without impacting other rows in your strip.
